Work and Clinical Experience

October 2013-2018: Staff Member (Part-time) at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Surgery, University of Malta. Including Clinical Demonstrations in Restorative dentistry (2013-2017), Research in the field of Dental Materials and Microbiology (2012-2017), Lecturing in Microbiology of Endodontics to undergraduate Dental students and Dental Materials, Microbiology and Infection Control to dental assistant students (2014-2018).

September 2012-September 2017: General dental practitioner in private dental clinics with special interest in restorative dentistry.

Current Work

My PhD aims to study the role of oral microorganisms in the initiation of cardiovascular disease through the use of endothelial cell in vitro models, as well as zebrafish embryo in vivo models. The project supervised by Dr. Craig Murdoch and Dr. Graham Stafford is funded by a Doctoral Academy/Faculty scholarship and part funded by an Oral and Dental Research Trust Award
